UCATT Northern Region Member Wins of Crown Regional Young Decorator of the Year

UCATT Northern region member Paul Bertram has recently won the accolade of Crown Regional Young Decorator of the Year.

Paul who is an apprentice painter and decorator competed in the regional final against apprentices from colleges across the northeast.  Winning the regional final automatically gave Paul an entry into the national final, which was held in Birmingham, where Paul finished a creditable 4th Place in the competition.

Both his employer and his college at both finals supported Paul.  Paul's college tutor Kevin Hocking stated, "This is an amazing achievement by Paul, to achieve the status of the best in the region is good but to come 4th best young painter and decorator in England, Wales and Northern Ireland is exceptional.”
