Construction Industry Joint Council - Stakeholder Pensions and other benefits

The Building and Civil Engineering Scheme

(B&CE) is the leading provider of employee benefits to the construction industry and the largest provider of stakeholder pensions to the construction industry. B&CE was established over 60 years ago to provide holidays for building workers employed in a mobile labour market. Template was developed by B&CE to continue a holiday pay scheme within the construction industry. Alongside the holiday pay scheme Template offers an employee benefits package offered to employers in the construction industry.

Stakeholder pensions

Every building worker employed under the terms and conditions of the Construction Industry Joint Council, Working Rule Agreement will have a minimum contribution of £3.00 per week paid into his or her personal stakeholder pension by their employer.

In addition to these contributions an employee can increase payments into their personal stakeholder pension scheme by paying between £3.01 to £10.00 per week which will be matched by an employer contribution. For every contribution the employee makes into their stakeholder pension they will also receive a tax rebate on payments into the pension scheme.

Death Benefit

The life cover available through TEMPLATE provides for a lump sum of up to £22,000. The payment is doubled if death results from an accident at work or traveling to or from work.

Accident Cover

If an operative is unable to work following an accident at work or traveling to or from work, accident cover will help take care of immediate worries by paying out a lump sum of up to £16,000 for a range of qualifying injuries
