Decent Homes Programme

UCATT has campaigned hard to ensure that partnership arrangements are in place with all Building Service Providers involved with the local authority ‘Decent Homes’ programme, to ensure that all Building and Construction partners provide trade union facilities including check-off arrangements. While we have been very successful in our approach to-date, we are still continuing to meet resistance from a Midlands based Building Service Provider, Bullock Construction. It has been tough going at times, but the Region continues to apply pressure through meetings with Councillors, Members of Parliament, Heads of Decent Homes Programmes, Chief Executives and letters to ALMO Board members. An honourable mention goes to management of Sheffield Decent Homes who have been most helpful in providing facilities to speak to prospective members as well as a seat on their strategic Health and Safety Committee.
