Health and Safety Advisor nominated for SHP award

Peter Wilson, UCATT Health and Safety Advisor of the Northern Region, has been nominated for this year’s SHP Award in Construction. The SHP Awards are launched for the first time this year by the Safety & Health Practitioner, which is the official magazine of the Chartered Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

Peter was nominated by the National Federation of Builders (NFB) for providing high-class consultancy advice for health and safety issues in the Worker’s Safety Advisor Challenge Fund (WSA). UCATT, NFB and Construction Confederation had secured a share of the fund in April 2004.  The project was funded by the DWP and aimed at improving the management of health and safety amongst the NFB’s members in the North East through the active participation of the workforce. Peter Wilson took on the role of Workers Safety Advisor providing a range of services to the NFB’s member companies and their employees. The awards ceremony will be taking place on 2 October in London.
